My Miri trip with wife was a short one. We flew to Miri on Saturday morning, when everyone was still in their bed, dreaming. We had our early morning breakfast at the BDC coffee shop. I was a bit sleepy because that night, I chatted in the blog until 2.00am. You can calculate how much sleep I had. Thank to my sister Doli for being so kind to send us to the airport, while we left our Kembara at her place.
We checked in immediately but so grossly, we had 2 separated seats. I think the online checked in made the best seats being taken and for the non frequent travelers like me, I still prefer the old traditional way where meeting people face to face are appropriate. But things could be otherwise if the person that you met did not serve you the way you should be served. Now days, some people do not know what is the meaning of customer’s right or customer is always right! It happen to me few months back when I was shopping for furniture and the sales man was so %^!!&* %.
Me: I want to buy that settee
SM: Sorry sir, it has been booked by another customer
Me: Don’t you have other stocks?
SM: No sir. This is the last stock.
Me: I don’t care, I want this one.
SM: No, you cannot have this. It was booked earlier?
Me: I want to talk to your manager.
….seconds later….
Manager: Can I assist you sir?
SM: Yes, I want to BUY that settee.
Manager: Sorry sir, that settee was booked earlier. We will call you within 2 days time if the booking is canceled.
Me: What? What the heck?? I have the money now and you don’t want to sell it to me? Where is my customers’ right?
I started to create situations until the senior manager came and dealt with it. Even the customers whom were there also agreed with me. Finally they agreed to sell the settee to me with discount some more. At least my melo drama and the “clean cursing” part were worth it.
We boarded into the plane around 6.30am. That morning flight was not full anyway. Hmmm, H1N1, that’s why people don’t want to fly, I guess.
But suddenly, I saw figures, wearing beautiful kebaya, I guess, but those figures were less interesting at all. I was so frustrated to be welcomed by them. Not to be an apartheid here, but did Air Asia took all the beautiful ladies in Malaysia to be their air stewardess? My goodness, I really pity MAS, again not to support biasness, majority of the air stewardess in my flight looked like Oprah Winfrey in her 80s. You go and figure it out. Try to imagine it yourselves, ok.
We arrived in Miri an hour later and my brother in-law picked us up there and sent us to the wedding ceremony in SIB Krokop. The wedding was about 2 hours. Around 12:00, my wife and I took off earlier and we checked in into the hotel around 12.30pm. Had lunch around 1:00PM, watch Harry Potter around 2:00PM and came back to the hotel for a short sleep before we attend the reception at the same hotel where we stayed in around 6.30pm until 10:00pm. Then we ZZZZZZZzzzzxxxxxxxxx….Tired!!!
