Hafiz and Me again.

Actually I don’t have any idea on what to write nor what to tell you regarding my trip to Sukma Ria last Sunday. I didn’t even know whether i have chance to meet my idol face to face by looking at the crowd at that time. There were young and old, men and women, children were wandering around the taman sukma parking spot, and thank you to my friend Jac whom advised me to go there later in the afternoon because that is the time where the celebrities would perform.
So I packed my SLR canon 400D, brough both my 50mm and 55 mm - 250mm lenses in my adidas bag. A piece of towel, oh, it’s going to be hot day and not forgetting my bucket hat to cover my head from the direct sunlight. Thinking of getting a new MP3 player and a sun glass for my self, but not now.. tengah pokai.. hehehe.
Arrive there around 3.00pm, wow, the seas of crowd were everywhere. I couldn’t find any familiar faces until I went back of the stage to the left side, between the tent and the stage where I found a cool lower temperature area. Tomok was singing at that time bt I didn’t bother at all. From far, Zhea called me, “Abet!!!” and started to get excited at least I found a friend there.

Zhea: Abet, Kaka, Dnaz and Nano are here.
Me: Is it? Where are there?

Then I saw 3 beautiful ladies in front of me. All the while we knew each other thru the chatters box and by their nick names but OMG, I met them live, in Kuching! They were sweet and single!! (Except gorgeous Kaka). So I humby introduced myself to them.

Zhea: Abet, Shylunee is over there..
Me: Where? Where?

I was eager to meet this lady. I ever read about her being mistreated in the blog… She sounded like a monster but when I looked at a petit lady in pink, noooo, this can’t be her… hehehe… nice to meet you all!!!

I snapped some pictures and out of the blue, I was already in the tent where all the celebrities were gathered. It is the place where they dressed up, eat, and do their personal business. The tent was quite big and airconditioned. Drinking waters are provided too. The tent was really being guarded closly to prevent outsiders (like me lorr) to enter and disturb the privacy of the celebs. As I enter the tent, I was so speechless. I saw mentor, Dafi’s fan club members, Dafi himselves, Mr and Mrs Suip, Aerwan and his cousins and 3 of my friends.

Mentor: Abet, you are here also? How are you? Have you eaten? There are mi goreng on the table, go head and enjoy your selves.
Me: Oh, ok, emmmm, is Hafiz in here? (What a question)
Mentor: Hafiz is there…

Pointing to Hafiz mother… oh, only know I see him because he was sitting just next to her beautiful beloved mother ( my future mak angkat - boleh sik kamek jadi anak angkat kitak madam? )

I didn’t go direct to him instead I talked to his cousin Aerwan first. Then Hafiz's mother, Mrs Suip call me, while Cikgu Suip was seated next to her.

Mrs Suip: Abet congratulations!
Me: What madam? Why congrates? (Me blur)
Mrs Suip: Congratulations for your wedding!
Me: Oh, oh ya.. I just got married last month.. (me blushing)

After few minutes chatting with the parents, then I go to the son, whom was sooooooooo busy doing the signings and photo taking by anonymous cameras.

Me: Hi Hafiz, lamak sik nanga tek,? (Yeah right.. as if he knows who I am)
Hafiz: Hi Abang Abet, yalah. Apiz busy gilak tok....

So the rest of the conversations remain confidential.... He did admit that he needs to change his life style from being just a normal boy into a superstar. I agree with him for it is right for his image being so young in this music industry, he is a good raw model to his young supporters (like me).

I went back around 6.30 pm. I had a fantastic time, especially upon hearing Hafiz sang Masih Jelas and I believe I can fly, lively! Me so happy!

Oh, yeah, to Nano, Kaka, Dynaz, Ebba, Zhea,Qaf, Kipas, Shy and the rest whom become the members of Hafizfan club, let us continue to support him in any ways and no matter what. Hafiz is where he is because of Us!

A Tribute to Michael Jackson

One day in your life
You'll remember a place
Someone touching your face
You'll come back and you'll look around, you
One day in your life
You'll remember the love you found here
You'll remember me somehow
Though you don't need me now
I will stay in your heart
And when things fall apartYou'll remember one day . . .
One day in your life
When you find that you're always waiting
For a love we used to share
Just call my name, and I'll be there
You'll remember me somehow
Though you don't need me now
I will stay in your heart
And when things fall apart
You'll remember one day . . .
One day in your life
When you find that you're always lonely
For a love we used to share
Just call my name, and I'll be there.

Michael Lim - Sarawak Artist

Michael Lim began his career as a professional artist in the early sixties and has been creating batik images on all forms of textiles from silk to cotton. Throughout his artistic career, Michael has travelled to exhibit his works and to exchange ideas and inspirations with fellow artists and experts the world over. A pioneer professional artist, Michael's works have been much sought after by art collectors both private as well as institutional, locally and abroad through the years. They are now in galleries and collections in Malaysia, Singapore, the Phillipines, Australia, Japan, India, France, Switzerland, England, and the United States

Michael applies the traditional approach to his batik paintings. Fabric dyes and wax are painstakingly worked into the fabric of choice creating a highly layered combination of colors. Upon completion of the artwork, the piece is then boiled and ironed to rid the fabric of excess wax thereby uncovering a composition of vibrant colors with intricate designs and textures.

Deriving inspiration from his surroundings, the majestic forests of Borneo as well as the rich cultural heritage of Sarawak, Michael's chosen subject matters include his signature hornbills, orchids, and jungle life. Particularly meticulous in including fine details in his works, audiences sometimes delightfully discover many subtle additions in his paintings such as little insects and animals or interesting flora and fauna amidst his main characters.

Michael has also has developed techniques for making wonderful creations from palm frond strips. See a short video of Michael and children of Rumah Garie longhouse in remote Borneo. It is a step-by-step instructions detailing how to make these fanciful animals and insects.

Michael devotes much of his time in other creative areas such as the development of natural dying techniques, copper tooling, woodcarving, basketry, and also the restoration of old artifacts. Despite such a hectic lifestyle, Michael still finds time to further develop and promote the many arts and crafts of Sarawak through his involvement as the Vice President of Society Atelier Sarawak.

Michael will be visiting the USA in July.

I know Michael or Apai (father) when i was in Uni, his house is the place where i use to spend my extra time. He loves to cook and me, ya, i love to eat.. hehehe. He is just like a family member to me and my family. During my wedding, he sat at my VVIP table, together with Izza and Iqqa and also Matthew and family from Brussels. As i mentioned in my previous entry, Apai gave me a framed painting and here it is... I just hang this thousands of ringgit art at my parents home in Tabuan Jaya as my appreciation to mom and dad. If they miss me, they just look at this painting. Hehehe...

Here's a closer look of the painting. We hang it at one of the corner of the main living room. The 2 hornbills are in love with each other.. hehehe. Thanks Apai!

Oh no! Is it time?

I found out that after moving into my new house, i have nothing to share anymore. I have nothing to write or tell already. Obviously i'm not going to share our sex life, our life as husband and wife and so on. So is this the time where my priority change?

Everyday we woke up around 6:30am, shower, coffee and then of to work. We arrive home late evening and most of the time we have our seperate dinner. But we plan earlier that every weekends we will have every meals together. We have to compromise so many things actually else things won't work no matter how hard you try.

So is it the time for me to go slow on this blog? The decision is mine to made. Of course people out there won't care more about it, right?

The Wedding Reception

The reception is around 7:30pm but the guests arrived as early as 6:00pm and mainly were from my kampung. At that time, I was still in bed in my room no 553, facing the KIA and i could see the new runaway from my room and also Kak Wa's( Hafiz AF7 cousin) house. Snah was at the bridal for her make up, accompanied by my newphew Nevin. I managed to take the hotel bed pics together with my lap top.. yup, i also managed to chat with friends too... hehehe

Around 6:15, my parents came up to visit my room. Together with them was my brother and my sisters and also Evelyn and Korno. The room was so big that it could accomodate more than 20 people at one time. So i did have my prvacy at that time, quite tired after the photograph session with Yon around Kuching town. So i took that 3 golden hours to close my eyes and gain back my energy because i want to look fresh that night. By 6:45pm, the band played lively.

Around 6:45pm, everyone went down except for the flower girls, the bubble blower boys, my wife sister, Ruth and Nevin, my wife and I, preparing ourselves for the last time to look good. Again, i didn't know the bridal didn't prepare anything for me to wear that night, so i wore a shirt which i bought few years back but it was quite small but it suits me that night. That was the 1st time i wore that shirt. Around 7:15 i call my wedding planner, my sister Doli asking her what's happening in the ball room.. Below is the picture of my parents with my inlaw infront of the ballroom.

Doli: The guests are 90% arrived, including your guests from Brussels and your special guests Izza and Iqqa, Hafiz sisters. Her mom sent them just now.

I was so happy upon hearing that. Around 7:45pm, we went down to the ballroom and wating for our que to march in. Everything was perfect and according to the plan. After everyone had their seat, the hotel as usual presented us with the delicous (i hope so) foods. The band played their numbers accordingly. There were songs selected sang by our friends. My sister Ivy and my cousin Joseph were the emcee that night.

Thanks to all whom made the ceremony so succesfull and a memorable to Snah and I. You know who you are and God Bless you! We had the cake cutting and did some toast with 3 languages, Iban, Kayan and Bidayuh... Oh ya, it started with Hallelujah!

But the most exciting part was the joget or mejeng. My cousins were the most happy. Everyone took their time to dance the joget. Rugi sik.. hehhee. Snah and i had enough so we went aeound and meet our friends and relatives and we took pictures with them. I think the reception fininshed around 11:30pm. But we were still there chatting with friends. Frankly i did not eat into the fullest. The food was nice, it's just i did'n have the right mood to eat and drink the wine. I heard that the Argentina wine was fabulous.

Here's another picture of the guests doing poco-poco.

I like this Pic

I'm holding the famous Fan :)

What? The 4 points by Sheraton Kuching has Hafiz Sitcker? Look closely at the window..

Church Wedding

I arrived at church minutes earlier in Simon's car. Yeah, there were crowds already taking my pictures together with the best man, my newphew. The weather was so hot. Thank God there are airconds in church. I could see my relatives, aunties and uncles were already there, smartly dressed in their very best. There were old men with orang ulu hat, the one with feathers on it while the ladies were wearing their own head gear made of rattan, i guess.

I saw some ladies in orang ulu attire and Henry in his 'sirat' and parang and shield. Oh ya, he's going to lead the wedding march later on. Everyone was waiting for Snah to arrive i reckoned. Me? I'm kewl!

Few minutes later the beautiful bride in her white arrived in the well decorated big black naza ria. Her father hold her hands tight while the flower girls and the ring bearers were already ready infront of them, waiting the music to be on and then to march in gently.

Me? I was infront near to the altar already. I saw mom, dad, doli, andy, ivy and igat and they were all seated behind me. I don't know how they feel at that time... Me? I'm kewl, hot and excited! The main photographer, Simon and Yon were already ready ever since while the video man, Luke, too was at position with his extra gears.

Seconds later, Rev Trevor gave his sign to Mastan, the audio man to on the music, and so the procession begin. The music, as i mentioned earlier was a beautiful song played by Jerry Kamit with his Sape and within the 3 minutes arrnagment, all the dancers included the brides were align with me near to the the altar. So the wedding service begin with an opening prayer, praise and worship, bible readings, sermons, wedding sermon and the holy communion and finally the signature of the marriage certificates. I think the service was about 1 hour and 15 minutes. Ohya, Rev did show some video clip in his sermon. The video clip was directed by Yasmin Ahmad. I think this is the 1st time a video clip is shown during wedding... hehehe.

Finally the marching out led by my wife and I. There were more photo sessions after that. We went to PJ to take more photos until late afternoon. Fatigue!!!
to be continued....
