Padang Merdeka Kuching is just like dataran Merdeka in KL. I have lots of memory where the events happened here. The earliest i could remember was in 1987, when i was still in priamary 5. I was the Red cresent member at that time and that Sunday, ( i remember it happened on Sunday because my brother Igat brought me to st Thomas Church morning service, before i went to the padang for the parade). So that was the 1st time i steppen on the Merdeka field. The other most memorable event was in 1993, when i was in form 5, active witht he band where we had band performance during the Merdeka day.
On Saturday afternoon 25 July 2009, 16 years later, i went there again, but this time, i did not march nor perform, instead, i should give this chance to the others also so that they have all the nice memories and do the same thing like i'm doing now, story telling... hehhehe...
I met my friend Jethro at the Merdeka Palace lobby. He stayed there with his family for a night. Pardang Merdeka was so crowded, with Modenas, Hot link and astro were playing their major role to promote the 'Jum Rami Rami' event in Kuching for the 1st time and also together with the AF reunion concert.
