Computer and I

It’s week 42 and work is work. I think the wafer industry is slowly catching up with the current economic situation. I know the economic situation is improving but it is improving very slowly. Oh, suddenly I missed burger king’s burger! I hope my cousin Jamie would read this and with her generosity, she will come back next time, 'tapauing' burger king burger for me. Hehehhehe…. I wonder whether KLIA have burger king or not, maybe I just fly take a day flight and have lunch there then take an evening flight back to Kuching, and mot forgetting to 'tapauing' somemore for my stock in Kuching. Mc D do sells burger but it’s not as nice and superb like how the burger king do it, hey, look at the name it self ok. It is a Burger King, King of al the burgers!!! Amen!
This week is quite slow to me personally. My project is delay for 4 days due to I’m resource less! Thank to my supervisor whom understand my situations. Well, it doesn’t mean that I’m free to do other things, so I told him that I’d learn some computer programming. Wow, I’m an equipment engineer by profession now is learning programming pulak, jaga kitak orang hehehehe… When I was in 1st year, I do learnt C++ programming and to me, in early 90s, computer is so very new. When I was in matriculation in 1994, we use an electronic typewriter and by owning it, one is so proud enough already. I firstly saw a computer in 1990, when I was in form 2, at school. At that time, computer is like gold or diamond, rare and unaffordable. So one day, I told my mom that I wanted to join the computer club at school and I need money to pay for the computer fee. Believe it or not, I have the money but when I inform the teacher in charge, she said that the class is full! Just imagine how I felt at that time, sad and angry.
When I attend my 1st year matriculation in 1994, I enrolled for the computer class for the 1st time, and yes, i'm not surprised that the computer room was quite pack. I think one computer is shared among 3 students. Actually the reason why I enrolled was to skip my night prep class because the computer lesson was handled at night time by an outsider in our boarding school. Besides that, I want to know what more a computer can do. Well, my 1st impression, it is like a box, a white heavy box with a 14’’ screen, a CPU and a mouse. There were wires all around and there was a long cable connected to one machine which is shared among all and they call it a printer. I was introduced to what they call a diskette. The 1.44Mb at that time was very new compare to the few kilobytes floppy disc.
I learnt DOS with some simple program. It was so scary moment when for the 1st time I touched the keyboard. I afraid everything would go hair-wired and finally it blows up in fire and we all got electrocuted. So i imagined so many things so that I’d be more careful and more responsible for it. But too bad, the class was too short and the 2 semesters were over just like that and I couldn’t remember anything and moreover i lost my notes! When i was in my 2nd year of matriculation we have some final year project to do and it must be typed and printed out. OMG! Only God knows how I feel. I'm still computer blind! At that time, Windows 95 was introduced but I was still phobia on touching the computer but I have no choice. Thank God I have a good Sabahan’s senior whom helped me to compile everything and finally to complete my report in 1 piece. All I have to do is to type the report in his computer and later he will do the editing and the printing. Gosh, I forgot his name. Thank you to you who ever you are. Sorry lah I lupa nama u…. hehehe Wah,,,, ber I, I and u u, last time abang senior…
I had my 1st computer in 2nd semester of my 1st year in 1997 and it cost RM3500. I still remember the time when my senior Alan Michael when to Ipoh to buy that computer. Alan was a great senior and he is still now. He knows what I want and he would handle everything for me at that time. When they sent the computer to my room, I think I was the 1st student whom had a computer with TV program installed. It came with a remote control and tv antenna too… I had an EPSON printer too. So every Saturday evening, my juniors would go to my room and watch the X-files and I was a kind of tradition since matriculations where everyone would go to the TV room to watch x-files…. I think only that sitcom managed to make the tv room full!
Nowadays, computer is getting cheap and cheaper. Everyone can own it and every house must at least have one computer. This week I learnt HTML, CSS, Javascript, ASP and PHP programs and believe me, they are so useful. Maybe I should have a 2nd Degree in Computer Science and major in software programming and make myself multi-tasking. Why not? Hehehehe!

=>Now i'm using a personal lap top for blogging and e-mail and FB. What about you?

So very 'Me'...

Wah, it has been days I didn't write anything in my blog. I feel so malas now days, in fact I have nothing neither write nor tell. Yeah I do dreams but they no longer in my head minutes after I woke up, unless I jot it down on a peace of paper and blog it when I have time. So sorry loyal readers to let you repeating opening and closing my blog but found nothing new! So frustrating right?
Wife and I started to control dinner intake. I realized that I do so less exercise and more on eating. I hope my calculation is wrong! Few weeks back, I eat full package of carbohydrate for breakfast, lunch and dinner but sadly I didn’t sweat and release the toxic from my body. Enough said, at least I already awake from my horrible nightmare and start to do something about it! Last night we had fruits salad and plain water. I should giving myself a standing ovation already.. hehehehhe. Learn to love yourself before you love others! I know my hearts, kidney, lungs and other systems were so happy this morning for not do overload.
Last Wednesday evening wife treated me movie and dinner at The Spring. We Surrogates. Good movie and it is all about the future where men no longer have life and space for themselves. They opt to be jailed in their own will. Thanks wife for the treat. Do it again soon!

Last Saturday morning, as I drove to my brother's clinic, the calm peaceful morning always reminds me of the USM campus in Tronoh. During my time, life in Tronoh was actually boring. No entertainment at all. We have an engineering library, we have swimming pool and big ponds and those are the places if ones get bored. He either can go to the library or read some thick journals, swimming in the pool or sit by the pond and dream a good dream. As for me, me and my close friend would wake up late, around 11am, take bath and off to the bus stop to catch the bus to Ipoh city. There's not much to do in Ipoh either, hey Ipoh is smaller than Kuching anyway.... Do not be surprised because familiar faces could be found everywhere. At the Cineplex, shopping podium, bawling alley, food courts and also bookstores.
My first destination would be brunch at KFC, nearby Ocean. Only then I go to Parkson for some movies, else it would be a tour around the Ipoh city. I'm glad I was given chance to study away from home. It taught me to be independent and self confident. Frankly, I really treasured my 5 years abroad, be it good nor bad experiences, they colored me to be what I am now and I thank my parents and siblings for their tremendous support spiritually and financially and they never fail to sustain and provide my needs until I finished my study there. God bless you all!

It is Sailing

It was the day that every body is waiting for. The ship is ready to cruise, the destination is already being set by the captain and the crews were all well briefed on each responsibility on that day. The weather on that 10th of October 2009, 7.30am was perfect. So let God bless our journey as we sail thru the wide and unpredictable roaring seas, with Holy Spirit as our anchor and Jesus himself as the great advisor.

I drove to the clinic around 8.00am to deliver the extra garden chairs for that function and then immediately drove back to Sri Ijah to pick up mom and sent her to the clinic. Mom fell down into the small drain 4 days ago while doing house chores and it made her foot was swollen and she had a minor surgery on her left toe. At his age, minor surgery is truly painful and troublesome. She couldn’t move nor walk with the help of the arm stick. So that morning she had another appointment with the doctor to remove the stitches and to redo her wound.

While she meets the doctor, I went back to fetch my dad and Pithui, get some drinking waters, put the ayam pansoh into the Naza and finally wore attire for that function. Pithui was smartly groomed and she was so excited too. Around 9.30am, I drove back to the clinic and fetch mom.

Meanwhile, at the clinic, Andy need to do a minor surgery to a dog that swallows 3 pieces of fish hooks. It was neither in the schedule nor plan but it is his duty to deal with the situation despite the whole preparations that need to be done for the grand opening. The balloons, ribbons, chairs and foods and beverages were all ready after 9.30am. All crew were at their bests. I arrived with mom, dad and Pithui around 10.00am. Just in time for the launching. I saw so many guests already aboard on the ship. They were as excited as us. Rev Father Trevor was also there chatting with his old mate. Well, everything was so nearly perfect including the weather.

The Datins

10.10 – Welcoming Speech – Dr. Anddy
10.20 – Opening Prayer – Rev Trevor
10.30 – Praise Song – Korno

10.40 – Blessings – Rev Trevor

10.45 – Ribbon Cutting – Rev Trevor, Dad, Mom and Dr Anddy

10.50 – Onwards – Fellowship.

So those were the short detail on that day. Overall, there were around 100 people on board and witnessing the opening ceremony with us. I thank God because everything ran so smoothly. The last guests went back around 5.00 PM. Every crews were tired but i think we were more happy then ever....

Busy Week

It’s the last day of week 41. Hmmm, what have I got for myself? Did I get enough? Frankly it was a long week. I dreamed a lot recently and some of it are still fresh in my mind. It’s weird you know because most of the time I will forgotten all the dreams the moment I had my morning bathe. Ok, here are some of it but it’s in random order of the days lah..
Dream1:
I got historical after my father killed a kitten just by stamp his foot on it.
Dream2:
-15 minutes pause-
Hmm surprisingly I’ve forgotten the dreams accept for the one above... hehehhee

Last Wednesday, we had dinner at mom’s place. It was raining cats and dogs. The reason for the gathering was to let all the board of seven directors, under the supervision of one chairman and one CEO to meet together and to have some discussion on their projects. We have so many pending projects which involve million of dollars (chewah) but the teams are so busy to save the planet earth. Anyway, all of us are the member of the Green Planet and we support NGOs who fights for the environmental. This week our 1st project would be officially lunch which is the opening of the Toda’s Arc Veterinary Center. The purpose is because of our love to the animals. I will write about it soonest after the official launching by the Padre’ in charge. Below s the sample of the invitation card for the function.

The rest of the projects will remain secrets but as you know, it is mainly for the love of the flora and fauna. It will only be exposed to the press and to the public when it is ready. At the meantime, enjoy yourself with the vc below.. This GEE group are very famous in Korea. When i was there, Bundang area, these ladies have their own very big phot taken and some of their songs became the hit in 2008. Enjoy it.. there are 2 version, the 1st version is from the originals singers and another one is from some clowns but the originals singers were there too and they only appear maybe 3 minutes before those clowns pass the song over to them... so spoiler one....

Another Week

It was raining quite heavily last night. And it was chill. I love it so much. Last night was the 40th Anniversary of the St Faith. St Faith is a strong church, attended by many ethnics, ages and status. But the same reason why we go there is to worship the Lord Jesus.
The grand opening which was held at the 4 points by Sheraton with 100 tables fully occupied with the church members and visitors really brought me back to the past. I used to be one of these people in the front line but for the last 5 years, I was only the spectators. Actually I’ so happy of that because it shows that the church grows and there are more gifted and talented people serving the lord in their on majestically way! I’ve been there, done that and I know how it’s feel.

Thank you Jesus for giving me the opportunity to serve You said it’s time for me to go slow. Thank you Lord for supplying us more gifted people to serve you better as how YOU want. In Jesus name I pray. Amen

Just now a colleague from Sibu asked me about the Tun title and it’s characteristic. So we google it up in the net and found this.

Tan Sri? Tun? What do they mean?
You might have heard of “Tun Dr Mahathir” or “Tan Sri Vincent” and wondered what these titles really signify.

o “Tun” is the highest civilian honour that can be granted to a Malaysian while “Tan Sri” is the second-highest title. These titles are bestowed by the King on the recommendation of the federal government and are controlled. They do not exceed a certain number at any one-time.

o To date, a total of 500 “Tuns” and “Tan Sri’s have been given out to Malaysians in Malaysia.

o There are currently 36 surviving Tuns and 458 Tan Sris.

The “Tun” title is further subdivided into two categories. The first is limited to 25 people and the second to not more than 35 people at any one time. So far only 14 people have been granted the title of Tun and 22 people in the latter category, which brings it to a total of 36 “Tuns” in Malaysia.

Criterion for Tuns are;
Ø They should be exceptional in their field,
Ø They should have contributed to the country,
Ø They must be influential.

There are also 2 Tan Sri categories; one bestowed on 75 people and the other 550 people.

Extra notes:
Colleagues also told me that he must not be single.
My colleagues told me that a friend of his saw Dian P.ramll at Taib Mahmuds's house. Hmm, there's must be something aroud the corner.A wedding perhaps....
